MADE IN HERTS STUDIOS These dedicated studios have now enjoyed 5 years here in Hertford.  They have adapted to the demanding needs of a working jewellery studio, fused glass and printing.  The workshop offers a huge variety of skills technique sessions from beginners, just starting out, to those who have been coming for years......

Melinda Scarborough

Melinda has over 35 years in the jewellery industry, obtaining a BA Hons Degree in Jewellery Design and Manufacture, City and Guilds (distinction) for Jewellery construction.  She has exhibited at Goldsmith's Fair, and was Student Designer of the Year at UK Jewellery Awards.


Has been teaching here at Made in Herts and previously at Artshed for 10 years.  Her patience and preparation is second to none, along with her technical knowledge and wealth of experience.  Her precise traditional style is admired and emulated.

Hendrike studied Jewellery Design at Central St Martins College of Art & Design and was awarded a BA (First class Hons). She also holds an MA in Modern History and an MA in Human Rights. Her background is diverse and so are her interests. She works as a jewellery designer & shows her work in galleries such as Contemporary Applied Art, London and regularly through design & craft fairs such as MADE London.

Her pieces are minimal and with clear lines. They seeks to highlight the beauty of the different techniques, such as Kumihimo silk braiding or the Korean technique Keum-Boo, which are used in her work.

Hendrike started teaching at Made in Herts in April 2018 and is very interested in the design aspect of creating jewellery as well as encouraging her students to try and master new techniques.

Sarah has been a tutor here at Made in Herts Studios for 10 years.  She has many diverse skills, being a true explorer of new processes and diversification.   Sarah's skill is inspiring and thinking outside the box.  These trends mean her work is individual, multimedia inspired and colourful.  She has a great following. 


Sarah is our tutor for lamp working gaining experience through experimentation.   She runs a very successful jewellery practice where she incorporates many different processess into her work.  The diversity of her skills makes for a very destinctive style......................
